A small update
·1 min
It’s been a while since I worked on this project. Initially, I planned to build a second board to test the V9990, but instead decided to design a new PCB with fixes for the issues I encountered previously.
Along with these fixes, I added an SN76489 sound chip alongside the YM2151 for extra sound effects, made a small change to the joystick ports to support Sega Mega Drive controllers, and swapped out the Ethernet controller chip.
I made these changes at the start of the year and received the revised PCBs at the end of January. However, I haven’t had time to assemble one until now. With the current lockdown, I finally have some free time—so it’s the perfect opportunity to get back to work on this project.
